He was predeceased by: his brother Richard; his parents, Isobel Colman-Sadd and Douglas Colman-Sadd; his parents-in-law, Meta and Freeman Howse; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Howse and Leonard Webster.

He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his children, Scott (Tammy), Robert (Evangeline) and Vanessa (Jon Brown); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Shannon, Brianne, Deanna, Christian, Cain, Kelsey, Kyle and Braden; his stepgrandchildren, Payton, Caleb, Jordan and Trinity; his great grandchildren, Sage and Paisley; his sister Juliette (Ray Payne); and his siblings-in-law, Loretta, Susie, Tony, Everest and Lawrence. He is also survived by nieces, other relatives and friends, especially his geology friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
