He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys McCarthy and Patrick McCarthy; his siblings, Michael McCarthy and Jackie Maloney; and his siblings-in-law, Debbie McCarthy and Gerald Myles.

He is survived by: his sisters, Loretta, Jenny (Aloysius) and Carm; his sister-in-law Loretta; his brothers, Clayton (Cassie), Jim, Con (Mary) and Tim (Jeanie); his brother-in-law Lorne; his niece Janessa McCarthy; and his brother Ted. He is also survived by his family including a long list of nieces and nephews, cousins.
