She was predeceased by: her husband Chesley Short; her parents, Jeremiah Slade and Adlena Slade; her siblings, William Slade, Ethel Blanche Slade and Cynthia Noseworthy; and her brother-in-law Cecil Rose.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn and Darryl (Dawna); her granddaughter Nicole Strugnell (Cyril (CJ); her stepson Brock; her siblings, Joyce, Francis (Al), George (Patsy), Jabe (Daphne) and Jim (Louise); her sister-in-law Alma; and her friends, Alberta, Mary C, Theresa, Marion and Brad.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the 12th Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3).
