He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Kennedy and Gertrude Kennedy; and his siblings, Neil Kennedy and Marjorie Rideout. He is survived by: his son Richard William Kennedy (Jeannette Blackwood); his close friend Angus; his stepchildren, Andrew Winter (Lacy O'Connell) and Hillary Winter (Timothy Gibbons); and his siblings, Gloria Baird (David), Christine, Gary (Kathryn) and David (Helen).
Visitation was held on Friday, August 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Saturday, August 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Home (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mazol Shriners Club (530 Topsail Rd, St. John's, NL A1E1B6).
