He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Swyers and Mae Swyers; and his brother Ron Swyers. He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his children, Mark (Chan) and Sandra Eccles (Ron); his stepson Chad (Kerri); his granddaughters, Jessica and Julia; his siblings, Greg (Marquerite), Wayne (Olivera Rubia), Marie MacDonald (Vivian White) and Jim (Rick); his sister-in-law Winnie Swyers; his mother-in-law Olivera Lucas; his cousins, Doris Swyers, Carmy Whyte (Jim), Martyn, Marilyn Stimpson and Kim Soulliere; his friends, Reggie Slaunwhite, Vic Harvey and Michael Casey; Elva (Bob), Lisa (Ricky), Amanda (Keith) and Marsha (Martin). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
