He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Cabanaw (Lewis) and Joseph Cabanaw. He is survived by: his wife Kristina; his children, Angela Van Deven (Eric), Larry King (Denise), Corey Lewis and Samantha Eisener (Gordon); his grandson Colton; his sister-in-law Mary Little; and his friends, Gordon, Pasty Greene and Catherine King-Smith.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to Cancer Care Newfoundland, or Sir Thomas Riddick Hospital.
