He was predeceased by: his wife Theresa; his parents, Walter Sheppard and Genevieve Sheppard; his siblings, Eileen, Theresa, Margaret, Edmund, Leonard and Kevin; and his siblings-in-law, Billy, Mackie, Bill, Walter, Jimmy, Dotty, Cathy, Imelda and Mary.

He is survived by: his children, Lyrinda (Matthew) of London, ON, Timothy of St. John's, NL and Yolanda (Neil) of St. John's, NL; his grandchildren, Samantha (Mikhail), Cecilia (Alex), Aaron (Megan), Elissa and Emily; and his great grandchildren, Remi and Zoya.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Edward's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland.
