He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertie Blanchard and Fred Blanchard; and his siblings, Eddy, Charlie, Arthur, Carroll, Agnes Blanchard, Hilda Marsh, Nellie Blanchard, Elizabeth Smallwood (Betty) and Hazel Farnell.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his sons, Randy (Sheryl) and Brendan (Amber); his grandchildren, Logan, Lacey and Charlee; his sisters, Jean Colombe and Marie Bennett; and his niece Arlene White (Cal). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews other family and friends.

As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southwest Coast SPCA in memory of Gerald to recognize and honour his love for animals.
