He was predeceased by : his wife Phyllis; his son Dwayne; his granddaughter Victoria Legge; his parents, Phillip Butt and Sadie Butt; his parents-in-law, Clayton and Lucy Coish; his brother Walter; and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Janes, Pearly Bailey (Guy), Shirley Butt, Milton Coish, Wesley Coish and Hugh Noel.

He is survived by : his children, Rhonda Bennett, Brian Butt (Cynthia), Susann Legge (Douglas) and Jim Butt; his grandchildren, Susan, Sabrina, Alec, Jay, Holly, Jazmyne, Dustin and Jace; his great grandchildren, Clinton, Susanna, Alexander, Matthew, Mataya, Blake, Jaelyn and Kayson; his sister Glenda Snow (Sam); his siblings-in-law, Jesse Coish (Clarice), Norma Bridger (Neil), Jesse Coish and June Coish; and his friends, Marie Heath, Jeanette, Dean Weir, Everette, Brenda Butt and Major Gerald Lacey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gordon was both pragmatic and charitable, so in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Victoria Legge Award for Spiritual Leadership - Memorial University; The Make a Wish Foundation; or a charity of one's choice.
