He was predeceased by: his wife Melita; his parents, James LaCosta and Nora LaCosta; his siblings, Marg, Theresa, John, Charlie and Ray (Mattie); and his grandson Johnathon Dennis.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Edna White; his children, Kim Dennis (Junior) and Lawrence LaCosta; his grandchildren, Richard Dennis (Amy) and Abigail Dennis (Riley); and his siblings, Sadie (Richard), Mary, Ann, Bobby (Georgina) and Jimmy. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
