Alonzo Wheeler Obituary

The memory of Alonzo Wheeler (Summerford, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 24, 2025 at the age of 84, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Wheeler and Harry Wheeler; his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Lillian Gates; his brother Wilson; and his siblings-in-law, Winston Gates, Gordon Gates, Harvey Pelley, Margaret Wall (late Gerald), Wanda March and Myra Gates.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Laura Wheeler; his children, Dean Wheeler (Sylvia), Doanne Penney (Howard), Dana Wheeler (Wayne), Dwayne Wheeler (Giselle), Darren Wheeler and Dayle Biggin (William); his grandchildren, Nathan Penney (Katherine), Kayla Loosdrecht (Trevor), Hyllary Sparkes (Dwayne), Matthew Biggin, Brooke Wheeler, Daniel Biggin, McKenna Wheeler, Monroe Wheeler and Gabriella Wheeler; his great grandchildren, Declan Penney, Evelyn Penney, Silas Penney, Wesley Loosdrecht, Willem Loosdrecht, Katie Mugford, Grayson Mugford and Oliver Mugford; his brother Lloyal Wheeler (Gladys); his siblings-in-law, Maxwell Gates (Mary), Wade Gates, Andy Gates (Marilyn), Calvin March, Lawerence Gates (Nicole), Rocky Gates (Nadine), Brenda Pelley (Gary) and Glenda Pelley (Chesley); and his extended family, Christopher Hussey, Nicole Hussey and Leo Kraayvanger.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the New World Island Funeral Home (177 To The Isles Rd, Summerford, NL A0G3H0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at the Pentecostal Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alonzo's name to the Summerford Pentecostal Church Cemetery Fund.
