It is with sadness that the passing of Arthur Gidge (Summerford, Newfoundland) is shared. Arthur, born on May 17, 1939, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Arthur will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honour Arthur by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Arthur is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Arthur’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John and Minnie; his uncle Tommy Burges; his wife Sarah; and his grandchildren, Gabriel and Wren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the New World Island Funeral Home (177 To The Isles Rd, Summerford, NL A0G4E0). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Anglican Church.
Donations in Arthur's memory may be given to the New World Island Academy Breakfast Program, Summerford.
