He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace and Mabel; his brother Ewen; and his siblings-in-law, Marie, Violet, Myrtle, Chesley, Reginald (Renie), Kevin and Kenneth.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his daughters, Kelly and Mona (Donald); his grandsons, Thomas (Melissa) and Mason (Eva); his great grandchildren, Matthew and Michael; his brothers, Reginald (Velma) and David (Ivy); and his sisters-in-law, Myrna, Leah and Beth (Sidney). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family.
