Gordon Wheeler Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Wheeler (Summerford, Newfoundland), who passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick and Eva; his brothers, Ernest (Lucy), Arthur, Winston and Baxter (May); his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Netta Nippard; and his siblings-in-law, Harvey, Uriel (Edna), Don, Heber (Pearl), Calvin, Violet (Howard) and Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Bessie; his children, Rick (Celyn), Joanne (Sam), Rod (Nancy), Ritchie (Jaclyn) and Louanne (Jason); his grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Katherine, Kimberly, Danielle, Mallory, Zoey, Kristina, Zander, Kennedi, Kenzie, Kaylee and Layla; his great grandchildren, Raya, Cameron, Nora, Charlie, Abel, Alma-Ann, Genesis, Charlotte, Carter and Bryan; his siblings, Pearl, Louise, Joan (Kenny), Lucy (Harry) and Garry (Debbie); and his siblings-in-law, Wallace (Gladys), Evelyn and Gladys Nippard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the New World Island Funeral Home (177 To The Isles Rd, Summerford, NL A0G 4E0). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Summerford Pentecostal Church.
