She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Smith and Lewis Smith; her adoptive parents, Bridget Wheeler and Alfred Wheeler; her brothers, Eugene, Harry, Walter, Roy, George and Jack; her former husband Vernon Boyd; and her daughter Velma White.
She is survived by: her sisters, Ruth and Gladys; her children, Judy (Barry), Loretta, Donald (Nicole), Jackie (Bob) and Lori-Ann (Billy); and her granddaughter Maggie (Lori-Ann). She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maggie's memory may be made to the Tizzard's Harbour Cemetery Fund.
