He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Mitchell and Julia Mitchell; his parents-in-law, Patrick and Genevieve Murphy; his son-in-law Robert Hackett; his sisters, Margaret Mitchell and Elizabeth Labour; and his siblings-in-law, Annie March, Dolorosa Murphy, Johnny Lavhey and Ralph Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Magdalen; his children, Connie, Colin (Corina) and Tim; his grandsons, Richard and Timmy; his nephew Jeremy (Torie); his siblings, Peter (Rosemary), Leo (Diane), Clyde (Alicia), Bridget (Felix) and Mary; his siblings-in-law, Melvin Labour, Clarence March, Denis Murphy, John Murphy (Florence), Jerry Murphy (Maggie), Patrick Murphy (Thomasina), Rhoda Smith, Pearl Denty (Whylie), Catherine Denty (Garfield), Florence King (Randy), Sadie Murphy (Calvin) and Regina Gaulton (Rick); and his close friends, Edith Pope and Norm.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
