He was predeceased by: his significant other Catherine "Kay" Samuelson; his parents, Andrew Samuelson and Genevieve Samuelson; his siblings, Andy, Keith, Bob, Paul and Debbie; and his stepbrother Charlie.
He is survived by: his children, Jenny (Varrick), Tony (Kara), Karen (Billy), Stephanie (Matthew) and Carissa (Colin); his grandchildren, Anthony, Brad, Christopher, Brittany, Jessie, Kiera, Carter, Nathan, Willow, Winter and Wyatt; his great grandchild Jack; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Ruth (Jim) and Gail (Bill). He is also survived by members of the Purcell family, Kay's extended family.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Gus's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation NL Chapter.
