He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Vaters; his parents, Ronald Vaters and Melita Vaters; his siblings, Anna Brennan, Cyril, Patrick and Hughie; and his son-in-law David Butler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Henderson and Debbie Butler; his grandchildren, Jeff Stafford and Tanya Henderson (Daniel Jacques); and his siblings, Ronald (Michelle), Bill (Anne), John (Diane), Susie (Adrian), Marie (Jerome), Mercedes (Aubrey), Margaret (Johnny) and Bernadette (Charl). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
