Earl James Hayes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Earl James Hayes (Torbay, Newfoundland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 17, 2026 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Luke; his parents, Earl Hayes and Marie Hayes; his nephew Eugene Hayes; his father-in-law Bernard Howlett; his brother-in-law Fergus Dillon; his cousin Tone Hayes; and his aunt Marg McGrath.
He is survived by: his significant other Jo-Anne (Howlett); his siblings, Paul (family: Rick) and Gail; his mother-in-law Patricia Howlett; his siblings-in-law, Judy Myers (Dave), Kathi Noah (Greg), Eileen Mullet (Tony), Bernice Fardy (Dean), Patty De Long (Ian), Brenda Strickland (Ken), Heather Dillon (Colin) and Bernie Howlett (Stacey); and his cousins, Mick, Sheila Hayes, Janine Halliday, John Bishop, Bruce Lucas, Rita, Jardine and Leona Purcell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Caul's Funeral Home (1118 Torbay Rd, Torbay, NL A1K 1A4). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (2 Convent Ln, Torbay, NL A1K1K7). The inurnment was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
