With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janice (Hand) Walsh (Torbay, Newfoundland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 19, 2024 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janice (Hand) Walsh to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Hand and Edith Hand; her siblings, John and Carol; and her siblings-in-law, Shirley, Bernice, John, Josh, Jim and Andre.

She is survived by : her close friend Jim; her husband James Walsh; her children, Michael (Anne Hatcher), Amanda (Dean Grant) and Rory (Madonna Williams); her grandchildren, Felicia (Evan Masarovich), Dean (Jessica Grant), Beth (Josh Chaffey) and Lia (Brandon Kelly); her great grandchildren, Joseph and Hazel Masarovich; her siblings, Elaine, Marjorie (Gary), Bob (Rosemary), Mary (Bruce), Dorothy (Jim), Pearce (Bonnie), Ed, Paul (Linda), Donna (Steve), Ken (Debbie), Tony (TW), Cathy (Wayne) and Noel (Wanda); and her siblings-in-law, Michael, Darrel (Mary), Sean (Sue), Spencer (Beverly), Gail, Michele and Geraldine. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St Teresa's Parish (120 Mundy Pond Rd, St. John's, NL A1E1V1). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Jack Hand Legacy Foundation.
