He was predeceased by : his parents, William Simmons and Florence Simmons. He is survived by : his grandchildren, Alyssa, Faith (Jeff), Nathan, Kathryn and Carly; his great grandchild Sophia; his siblings, Florence Young, William (Yvonne) and Cyril (Janet); and his close friends, David, Rosalind Young, Dan, Carson, Lorraine Thistle, Andrew, Christine, Vanessa and Laura. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland & Labrador.
