He was predeceased by : his grandson Jordan Abbott; his parents, Alexander Abbott and Alexandria Abbott; and his brothers, George, William, Clayton, Louis and Gerald.

He is survived by : his wife Gertie; his son Glenn (Rosalind); his grandchildren, Curtis (Holly) and Claire; his siblings, Sandy, Chesley (Sharon), Gladys Holloway, Elizabeth Budgell, Rita Hynes and Joyce Abbott; and his siblings-in-law, Vera Abbott, Anne Abbott, Leslie Ralph and Gerald Ralph (Pearl). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
