She is survived by : her husband Harold; her children, Cavell Freake (Tracy), Corey, Venessa Rideout and Craig (Pennie-Lea); her grandchildren, Joshua (Courtney), Adam (Skylar), Philip (Janelle), Noah, Jordan (Dominque), Emma and Issac; her great grandchildren, Tylor, Tyanna, Felicity, Jackson, A. J. and Ryder; and her siblings, Phleymon (Edith), Marilyn Gleason (Calvin), Ronald (Donna), Wayne (Linda), Gregory (Pauline), Lloyd, Trudy, Howard (Sylivia) and Thomas (Glenda). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Donation's in Gertie's memory may be given to the Salvation Army corp., Bayview.
