She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Hynes and Maude Hynes; her husband Malcolm Elliott; her siblings, Ron (Geraldine), Eric, Harold, Marie (Selby), Evelyn (Maxwell), Violet (Clayton) and Lilly (Roland); and her siblings-in-law, Margaret and Almond.

She is survived by: her sons, Jason (Kayla) and Justin (Cindy); her grandchildren, Ayden and MacKenzie; her stepdaughters, Paula, Peggy (Roger), Patricia (Hughlett) and Patsy; her stepgrandchildren, Danielle (Mark), Allison (Seamus), Connor and Christian; her siblings, Gilbert (Hazel), Raymond (Holly), Lloyd (Eileen), Kathleen (Aubrey), Madeline and Millie (Slyvester); her sister-in-law Hazel; and her pet Bella. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Donations in Magretta's memory may be given to the Central United Church, Twillingate.
