He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rideout and Eunice Rideout; his brothers, George (Marie), Selby (Anniebelle), Wilfred and Hayward; his sisters-in-law, Mona and Francis Ann; and his father-in-law George Weir.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his siblings, Leslie, Sidney and Geraldine Bellows (Don); his sisters-in-law, Gladys (Marvin), Marjorie and Cathy Hutchings (Dave); and his mother-in-law Nina Weir. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donations in Melvin's memory can be given to the Twillingate Lions Club Playground.
