He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis; his son Derrick; and his parents, John Young and Alfreda Young. He is survived by: his children, Warren, Freda, Marilyn (Ray), Christine (Gary), Perry and Jackie (Phil); his grandchildren, Krista (Rikki), Jordan, Garrett (Hayley), Shelby (Craig), Dawson (Ryerson), Erica (Nick) and Brooke (John); his great grandchildren, Kruze and Hazel; his sisters, Louise and Margaret; his stepsiblings, Winston and Mabel; his cousin Will MercerAnd; his daughter-in-law Frances; and his sister Enid.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (432 Cranes Rd, Upper Island Cove, NL A0A 4E0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Peter's Anglican Church & Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in his loving memory to a Charity of One's Choice.
