He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel; his parents, William Leyte and Ida Leyte; his son Darren Alfred Leyte; his granddaughter Lorelei Holmes; and his siblings, Melvina (Vernon Lane), Stan Layte, Ray Leyte and Reg Laite (Elsie).

He is survived by: his children, Beverly, Marlene (Danny Budden), Angela (Rod Kluk) and Lorena (Dan Kocher); his grandchildren, Tanya (Leonard), Colin (Leah), Stephen (Kaitlyn), Marlena (Mike), Christopher (Dreana), Danielle (Sam), Clayton (Jayda) and Nicole (Dave); his great grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel, Andrew, Charlie, Benjamin, Lucy, William and Charles; his sisters, Dora (Woodrow) and Edith; and his sister-in-law Marion Layte. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
