With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shaylyn Hawkins (Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shaylyn left this world on August 10, 2025 at the age of 34, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Shaylyn may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shaylyn touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Peter, Elvena Hawkins (LeBlanc) and Evangeline Mitchell (Thurbide). She is survived by: her parents, Tim Hawkins and Michelle Hawkins (Mitchell); her brother Christopher Lee (Jessica Leigh Chénier); and her close friends, Jacqueline Livingston and Ashley Parks.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anne's Catholic Church (678 Alder Point Rd, Alder Point, NS B1Y1A7).
