He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Albert and Margaret Spence Albert (Kelley); his wife Sarah; his grandsons, Scott Wells and Cody Ripley; his siblings, Gary Spence and Doreen Gould; and his brother-in-law Joseph Gould.

He is survived by: his pets, Pebbles, Bambam and Molly; his children, Frances (Rusty Barnes), Vickie Wells (Wayne), Melody Spence (Virginia Goodwin) and Kim Ripley (Tom); his grandchildren, John Sherriff (Erin Bugley), Amanda Wells, Marley Bourgeois (PJ), Sarah Beckwith (Colin) and Chelsea Ripley (Mitchell Gallant); his great grandchildren, Brandon Alder, Gaige Wells, Taysha Snowdon, Danika Spence, Dedam and Braelynn Ripley; and his brother Donnie Spence (Winetta). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
