She was predeceased by: her parents, U. Johnson Hollis and F. Priscilla Hollis (Allen); her former husband Alvin Ira "Buster" Bird; her son Alvin Johnson Bird; her husband William Mitchell; and her son-in-law Gordon Stokes.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Stokes of Sackville, NB, Stephen Bird (Sandra), Donna O'Neill (Skip) and Paul Bird (Elaine). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and three great-great step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
