He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smith and Mary Smith (Light); and his siblings, Brian, Bud, Zella, Joyce and Mildred.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Carolyn McManaman; his children, Isaac (Brittany), Alicia McManaman, Jennifer Smith, Charlene Smith and Judy Lynn Smith; and his sister Shirley Fullerton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
