David J. Hamilton Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Jamieson Hamilton, age 80, of Amherst, NS. David passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Joggins, NS, he was a son of the late Norma (Vickery) Hamilton McAloney. David was a member of the Canadian Military Forces, serving in Germany in the late 50's.
He was a long haul truck driver for over 30 years. When he wasn't driving professionally, he loved the open road on his motorcycle. David is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary of Amherst; Daughter Norma Hamilton, Niagara Falls, ON; son David Hamilton, Loretto, ON; chosen sister Sandra; several grandchildren. In addition to his mother he was predeceased by brother Graydon Hamilton and sister Ruth Hamilton.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care and supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A graveside service will be held at the River Hebert Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in David's memory may do so to the charity of your choice.
