He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Short and Madeline Short; his wife Betty Jean Short (Brown); and his siblings, Dorothy, Doug, Daniel and Diane.

He is survived by: his children, Sally Murray and William Short (Kandace); his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Shane), Matthew (Britney), Donnie and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Taylor, Blake, Bryden, Kolton, Zoey, Maddison and Sophia.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hillside Cemetery.
