She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nutting and Wilhelmina Nutting (Verge); her husband Kenneth Walter "Bob" Spence; and her sisters, Jennie Black, Mary Black, Annie Skidmore and Doris Morrison.

She is survived by: her daughter Sheila Spence of Amherst, NS; and her grandchildren, Carrie Hewitt, Brian Hewitt (Ashley) and Lindsay Hewitt (Conrad Stewart). She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
