She was predeceased by : her parents, Sunny Varner and Margaret Varner (Winters); and her husband Walter MacDonald. She is survived by : her daughter Margaret Whyte (Chris Hebert); her stepdaughter Anna MacDonald (Waco Young); her grandchildren, Shayla Goodwin and Bobby Whyte; her siblings, Georgina Varner, Becky Winters (Debbie Fridenmaker-Mitchell) and John Varner (Cathy Robichaud); and her nieces and nephews, Wendell Ripley, Ronald Venus, Grace Varner (Robert Dowe), Nicole Taylor and Wendy Ripley.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made in Eva's memory to Easter Seals Nova Scotia.
