Eva Genevieve O'Byrne Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Eva Genevieve O'Byrne of Amherst, Nova Scotia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Eva left this world on November 4, 2025 at the age of 103, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Betts (Cormier) and Ross Betts; her husband Joe Sr.; her siblings, June Betts, Diane Roy, Bernice Smith, Gloria LeBlanc, Edward, Robert, Alfred, Donald, Lloyd and Richard Betts; and her great grandchildren, Corey Palmer and Emily Rose Dale.

She is survived by: her children, Joe Jr., Brian of Amherst, Frank (Jackie), Ann Stewart (Mike) of Dartmouth, NS and Glenn (Carol Ann) of Amherst, NS; her grandchildren, Bill and Phyllis Mills; and her siblings, Larry Betts (Pat) of Calgary, AB and Dolores O'Byrne of Burlington, ON. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 3 great – great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Campbell's Funeral Home (98 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B4). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Family Parish (63 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B1).

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made in Mom's name to St. Vincent de Paul Society, After the School Bell program, Amherst Food Network Association or a charity of your choice.
