He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Helm and Constance Helm (Mosley); his brother Donald; and his sisters-in-law, Christina and Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Gerry (McWhirter); his daughters, Trish Neima (Paul) of Kingston, PEI, Anne Chartrand (Alain), Tidnish Bridge, Dawn Helm (Stephen) of O'Leary, PEI and Sherri Moss (Truman); his grandchildren, Corey (Crystal), Kathryn (Ryan), Jordan, Laura (Colby), Sarah (Daniel), Cole (Leah) and Elaina (Micah); and his siblings, John (Randi), Tidnish Bridge, Barry (Edie), Hastings and Marie. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Trinity St-Stephens United Church (1 Ratchford St, Amherst, NS B4H4P8).
Memorial contributions can be made in Gordon's memory to Cumberland Hospice or a charity of choice.
