It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathleen Hazel Thurston of Amherst, Nova Scotia, who passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Cole and Estella Cole (Wilson); her husband Kenneth; her stepfather Harley Hawkes; her siblings, Vickie Bolger (Chuck), Donna Dunning, Edwin Hawkes and Carl Hawkes; and her sister-in-law Linda Hawkes.
She is survived by: her sons, Alden (Ruth) and Blaine (Sheila); her grandchildren, Leah (Chris), James (Deidre), Patrick (Adrianna), Jacob (Danielle), Leslie (Martin), Samantha (Michael), Kristen (Jonathan) and Kingsley; her great grandchildren, Archer, Lincoln, Hudson, Ellie, Theodore, Noah, Hank, Athena and Amelia; her siblings, Sandra Patriquin (Jim), Jim Hawkes (Donna), Judy Rhindress (Charlie), Beverly Hayword (Ross), Barb Hurley (Eric), Allen Hawkes (Joan) and Charlotte Strathearn (Larry); and her siblings-in-law, Ernie Dunning, Myrna Rushton (Bill), Norma Hawkes and Jean Ann Hawkes. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Campbell's Funeral Home (98 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B4).
