She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Vincent Ginley and Margaret Ginley (Kavanagh); her children, Peggy Maude Ormond and Peter Alfred Ormond; her husband Rudy Smits; her stepchildren, Jason and Melissa Smits; and her sister Karen Robichaud.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Amherst Curling Club (45 Prince Arthur St, Amherst, NS B4H1W2).
