It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leota Jean Murphy of Amherst, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Garnet Gerald and Hattie May MacDonald (Waugh); her husband Ronald Murphy; and her siblings, Annie Hunter (Austin), Lillian Wessell (Herbert), Muriel MacDonald, Evelyn Hollis (Joseph), Buddy "Laurie" MacDonald (Josephine) and Gerald MacDonald (Mary).
She is survived by: her son Michael (Chrystal); her granddaughter Grace Ellen-Jean Murphy; her brother David MacDonald (Elli); her siblings-in-law, Darrell Murphy (Susan) and Patsy King; and her daughter-in-law Terry. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Campbell's Funeral Home (98 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B4). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location.
