She was predeceased by: her parents, William Everett and Edith Read (Black); her brothers, Courtney Read and Donald Read; and her brother-in-law Dave Tarr.

She is survived by: her husband Borden; her daughters, Angela Penney (Dexter) of Antigonish and Jennifer Lowther Patterson (David) of Greenhill; her grandchildren, Sarah Penney, Kaitlyn Penney and Eli Patterson; and her sisters, Doris Vienneau (Mel), Mabel Tarr, Helen Hunsley (Hubert) and Darlene Read. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
