He was predeceased by : his parents, Warren Black and Alice Black (Chappell); his siblings, Louise Hollis, Bernice Black and Kenneth; his niece Betty Ann Ingram; his brother-in-law Elmore Gilroy; and his foster brother Neil Spicer.
He is survived by : his wife Helen of Brookdale, NS; his children, David (Linda), Grant (Anne) of Fall River, NS, Paul (Trudy) of Lorneville, NS, Dale Davis (Andrew) of Salem, NS, Ronnie (Liz) and Robbie Amherst (Cyndi); his grandchildren, Angela (Tom), Brian (Christine), Sarah (Matt), Amy (Brendon), Coleman (Ainsley), Ayerica (Kyle), Evan, Blair (Tiffany), Oliver (Andrea), Emily, Kennedy and Tanner; his siblings-in-law, Carl Gilroy (Joan) and Mary Gilroy; and his foster brother Michael Kaye. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
