He is survived by : his wife Nadine O'Neil; his children, Tracey and Shelley Francis (Danny); his grandson Dylan Francis (Hallie); his stepgrandsons, Simon, Justin and Ryan Francis; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Henry and Vivian Francis; his brother-in-law Terry O'Neil (Janet); and his nephew Corey O'Neil (Vickie).

Donations in Donnie's memory may be sent to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Smiths Cove Fire Department.
