He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley Shaffner (Barteaux); and his parents, Margaret Shaffner (Spurr) and Ernest Shaffner. He is survived by: his wife Dodi; his children, Julie Nause (Allen), Natalie Shaffner Bedford (Ian MacGillivray) and Scott Shaffner Granville (Holly); his grandchildren, Jillian Budgell (Alex), Zachary Nause (Taylor), Sunny Tavakoli (Ahmad), Sunnyvale California and Benjamin Shaffner (Jenna); and his great grandchildren, Chelsea Budgell, Jacob Budgell, Ella Nause, Greyson Nause, Peyton Nause, Leo Tavakoli, Remi Tavakoli and Fallon Shaffner.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be made to the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal.
