It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Alexander Tumilty (Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia), born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on November 29, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Alexander Gillis and Margarette Gillis (MacLellan); his adoptive parents, Robert Tumilty and Helen Tumilty (Gillis); and his sister Delores.

He is survived by : his wife Karen (Redden); his sons, Joseph (Janice), Peter (Svetlana) and Stephen (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Alexandra (Matt), Ashton, Damian, Katherine, Seth and Abigail; and his great grandchildren, Oliver and Addison.

Donations in Bob's memory and in lieu of flowers may be made to the local foodbank.

“Dear Karen, Joe & Janice, Peter & Svetlana, Stephen & Rebecca: I will remember Bob as generous, kind, witty & competitive. He gave mom & I a place to call home & helped me to get a job & to attend university. He once borrowed Ellie’s clubs, complained the entire round, but still won the game by a stroke.. You can imagine how he gloated that day, and every opportunity thereafter during our visits. We will miss him. Our sincere sympathy for your loss. Kerry & Ellie”
