He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis and Enid (Toope); and his brothers, Sean and Gregory. He is survived by: his children, Marianne (Brendan MacDonald), Laura of Antigonish, Joseph, Michael of Antigonish and Andrew (Jacinta Reid) of Halifax; the mother of his children Anne Marie (MacPherson); his granddaughters, Maëlle and Marsali MacDonald; his brother Jerry (Joyce) of Heatherton; his nieces and nephews, Ashley, Lisa, Michelle, Bridget and Kayla; his sister Sharon; and his sibling-in-law Jade Swaine.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the MacIsaac Funeral Home (61 Pleasant St, Antigonish, NS B2G1W7). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Ninian's Cathedral (121 St Ninian St, Antigonish, NS B2G1Y9).
