He was predeceased by: his parents, Hector MacDonald and Susan MacDonald (Bowie); his son Jimmy; his former wife Catherine Patricia MacDonald (MacLean); and his wife Dorothy MacDonald.
He is survived by: his sisters, Margie MacGillivray (John) and Ann Thompson (late James). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the MacIsaac Funeral Home (61 Pleasant St, Antigonish, NS B2G1W7). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Ninian's Cathedral (121 St Ninian St, Antigonish, NS B2G1Y9).
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
