James Ignatius MacGillivray Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Ignatius MacGillivray (Antigonish, Nova Scotia), who passed away on October 5, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack MacGillivray and Mary Ellen MacGillivray (Connors); his siblings, Joseph "Dody", Kevin, Allan and Catherine Kuzyk; his parents-in-law, Harold and Louise MacPhie; and his brothers-in-law, Harold James, John M, William "Billy' and Leonard MacPhie (Joan).
He is survived by: his wife Gladys (MacPhie); his children, Shelly (Williams Point), Carl (Charmaine) of Lakeside, NS, Harold Williams Point (Nancy) and Devon of Annapolis Valley, NS; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Dalton, Dale, Landon, Hadlee, Olivia, Ainsley and Emmie; his siblings, John (Bev), Vince of Edmonton, AB, Donald (Mary Anne), Coady (Kim) of Frankville, ON, Mary Scriver (Jim), Rebecca Lausch (Arthur), Janice Fraser (Greg) and Williams Point; and his sisters-in-law, Ruby, Veronica MacGillivray, Anne MacDonald (Ray), Arisaig and Dottie Fox. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and countless cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the C. L. Curry Funeral Home (135 College St, Antigonish, NS B2G1V2). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Ninan Cathedral.
