He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Elliott and Marjorie Marie Borden (Ash); his siblings, Anthony Borden, Paul Borden and Ida Borden; his foster brother James McNamara; his brother-in-law Wayde Williams (Wade); and his grandson Kaiden Pelly.

He is survived by: his close friend Shirley Desmond; his siblings, Martha Gordon, Mary Borden, Margaret Bundy (Raymond), Charlotte Williams, Theresa Borden, Joseph Borden (Diane), Edmund Borden (Gale), Thomas Borden and Bernardette Borden; his sister-in-law Lindy McNamara (Cole Harbour); his foster brothers, John Parris and Michael Downey; and his stepchildren, Wayne Desmond (Joy), Tracey Gero (Tommy), April Desmond (Tommy), Stacey Desmond (Terry), Jennifer Desmond (Jeff) and Everald Desmond (Jenny). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several cousins.
