She was predeceased by: her parents, Forbes Stanley Adamson and Bessie Anna Adamson (MacKenzie); her husband Alexander MacDonald Thompson; her children, Leonard and Nadine; her granddaughter Morgan; her sisters, Corinne Yuill and Evelyn Johnstone; and her brothers-in-law, Dr. George Yuill and Dr. Ian Johnstone.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia (Fred), Ellen, Sandy (Tanya), Hugh (Raylene), Bruce (Bill) and Janice (Brian); her grandchildren, Alexander (Ashley), Elizabeth (Karan), Emily (Sheikh), Djef, Matthew, Kyle (Leslie) and Travis; her great grandchildren, Alexander, Freya Thompson, Eurydice Thukral, Rachel, Josie and Alice Warren; her siblings, Caroline, Neal, Veronica Novak, Mary MacInnis, Dr. Chiasson, Dr. Ron MacCormick and Dr. Faour; Ruth McLain. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the MacIsaac Funeral Home (61 Pleasant St, Antigonish, NS B2G1W7). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Ninian's Cathedral (121 St Ninian St, Antigonish, NS B2G1Y9).
Donations in Lavonne's memory may be directed to the Palliative Care Unit c/o St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation.
